Black PhilipYongary came about because S. Korea wanted to cash in on the Godzilla craze. I happen to like the movie. It's no where good as The Host but then what is?

Thankfully, most movies aren't of The Host's quality, but at least there are enough for MST3K to be in business for a long time. Would actually be nice to see them do The Host. The sister "character" alone would give them hordes of content to rip on.

I'd like them to riff on some old Jackie Chan movies.

Wizards of the Lost Kingdom was the greatest movie ever. Bo Svenson!!!! Who needs MST3K when you got those hilariously bad effects and a Loki looking wizard. Got part 2 and can't wait to see it. Gotta turn Rumpled on to the first one.

I work with the Russians too. The Russian ladies, y'all.

The Void is a motherfucking strange piece of work. A bit of Cronenbergian body horror meets a serious WTF? experience.

Kadin Dusmani aka Woman Despiser (Ilhan Engin/1967) 6/10

You know how do I not watch a movie with the title Woman Despiser. This is a Turkish proto-giallo in black and white and manages to be offbteat and generally harmless. If you want to watch it just search el youtube-o.

The Void (Jeremy Gillespie & Steven Kostanski/2016) 6/110

Now this is the biggest WTF? I've seen this year. From the producers of The Witch. It certainly does not reach for those lofty heights but there's no shortage of gore, strange activities, creepy alien like creatures and weird dudes in hoods and white robes that are not the KKK. That doesn't even begin to describe the going-ons in this cluster-LSD-fuck. Do see it if you like extreme gore, Sci-ti and some very abstract music.

Happy B-day Damu. I'm gonna watch The Void later tonight. Anyone seen it yet?

Split was so underwhelming in every way I can think of. The guy still can't make a good feature. It's been since Signs.

Janson must think that the indie scene is full of fey twee movies. Not so my friend. Not with new companies like Bleeker Street and A24.

If you'd like to see a good S. Korean film that employs classical Hollywood style filmmaking and noir you should see Kim Jee-woon's latest The Age of Shadows.

Yo and fuck people who don't like Lars and the Real Girl. I admit it was no Kore-eda's Air Doll but it was good.

I saw Stop Making Sense at a revival theater and it remains the single best concert documentary I've ever seen. If you're a fan of Robin Hitchcock it's absolutely a must to see Storefront Hitchcock. It's not the most exciting concerts but it's real up close and personal.

Something Wild introduced me to Ray Liotta and I've been a big fan ever since.

MKSHave you seen Roy Colt and Winchester Jack?

I haven't, and I haven't seen several of his other non-horror films like Bladestorm, his sex comedy Four Times in One Night, Rabid Dogs and some others.

You can grab this one off youtube with subtitles.

Death Proof
Black PhilipThere's a copy of the Sean Connery one on youtube but it's kinda sucky. The copy and the movie.

Well, that's the point - it sounds so horrible I kinda want to see it.

I'm sure Hazel has autographed copies.

His first film was the Roger Corman production Angels Hard as They Come but he went on to bigger and better things like Philadelphia and the award winning Silence of the Lambs. Another legend taken by cancer.

DeschainWizard of the Lost Kingdom II was a hilarious episode, mainly because they ragged on Melvin from Tremors. Also quite a low point for David Carradine.

I grabbed both off youtube. I'm gonna watch the first one later. I prefer them without the MST3K treatment. The first one looks hilarious.

Get Out (Jordan Peele/2017) 5/10

Another overrated Blumhouse production besides Split. This got a better tomato score than Logan? Get the fuck out of town.
