DeschainNot gonna lie after watching Rick and Morty Bojack just doesn't do much for me anymore. I'll still check out the new season though.

Not in my case. I think they work very differently: Rick & Morty is the hilarious absurdist comedy with the occasional dramatic moment while BoJack is a full-fledged (depressing) drama disguised as an animated comedy.

Janson JinnistanNo, I know who he is. ?I assume you mentioned him because he directed the Lee Daniels screenplay for Monster's Ball. ?But when I think of hacks, I think of half-remembered names most of the time.

I actually was not aware he had directed a Lee Daniels script until after I wrote the post. Happy accident, I guess.

Philip J. FryMarc Foster might count as one.

Part of the problem is that, by their nature, hacks are not very memorable.

The guy that made The Kite Runner and Quantum of solace.

I've always thought that Akira Toriyama turned into a full-time hack once he began working on Dragon Ball Z. Being fair, though, I've never seen beyond the first episode of Dragon Ball Super.

Seth McFarlane. Can't believe I'm the first to say so.

Also, Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer.

pug manI had to look at the clock to double check the show was actually over. ?The final 10 minutes were devoid of any humor. ?Lana getting shot 7 times was funny?
They better revamp, re-imagine, whatever because I can count on one hand the number of times I laughed through the last 4 episodes.

They went to far with the noir pessimism this season, yeah.
I liked this Barry, though.

No problem.

Takoma1I started the show back when it was available on one of the major streaming services (Netflix, I think), but then it was taken down and I couldn't find it anywhere. The good buzz for the new season has definitely renewed my interest.

I think it is on the AdultSwim website. All the seasons. If not, tell me and I can PM you a place where you can find the five seasons.

That ending was the cruelest thing ever.

BigwigMan, I kind of feel like these playoffs have generally sucked for the viewer. Is this consensus or am I alone?

The Grizzlies-Spurs series was great. Outside of that one, yeah, meh.

Jesus F. Christ, how many receivers do the Steelers need? As good as JuJu can be, that was a pretty fucking terrible pick.

chunkyloverWhoa that was a classic finish. Just great shot-making.

And that overtime block by Andrew Harrison.

WrecklooseKawhi was insane. Impressive resolve by the Grizz.

Indeed. The Grizzlies always finding a way to make their playoff series entertaining (as long as they don't have to use 28 players in a season).

Oh, and finallyI began the new season of Samurai Jack (I had to watch the first four seasons first, which are great). Good stuff in the first episode. Scaramouche is tons of fun, Jack has some cool new weapons but his head is a mess and modern animation is a great fit with Jack. Also, one of Jack's delusions reminds me of Will's in Hannibal.

Amazing start.
