At the same time, I have to digress that there is nothing wrong with having a sex life, a work place related sex life, and so on so forth, but I'm more a proponent of proper communication. A great deal of our communication habits stem from art, our sense of humors, our way of navigating life. Why was Buffy such a thing? It introduced means of navigating life via communication in entertaining fashion. It's a sense of humor which isn't exactly hard to emulate, there is a formula to it. It's embedded in our dialog at this point. You could go as far to say that Liberal dialog, in general, is very Whedon. He's kinda huge in my area, like, that's an easy conversation starter

The dialog changed overnight

UGH, that was actually a good post. Dammit, yarn. I'm too tired for this shit

It's hard to explain but it does cut into my feelings of his work. Joss himself is so thoroughly embedded in his work, like, the is an autierist quality to his writing to the point where it bleeds into his public persona and it might be hard for me not to be annoyed by his voice coming through, with every good intent, every good, heart felt line being part of this design. The warm dad. The caring father who is there for us, in all of his noted flaws. It's seriously like a family equation, like, this is intimate in ways which most news doesn't breech with me. I really looked up to that guy growing up, and my feelings have certainly adjusted with age but this is a disillusionment spell. It will be hard for me to laugh with him from this point on

Dudes a huge phooooooooooooooony

For the record, I didn't read Yarn's post

EDIT: Okay, I read the first sentence "First, let's not pretend to be scandalized when we find out a director is sleeping with actresses and actors."

Well, yeah, duh. Ugh. Why would I continue? But that's exactly what I'm going to do because I'm kind of a messy bitch myself. I see you Takoma, I'll have the mind to reply tomorrow because this is going to make my brain give up

DaMUmy question is whether or not that sort of inconsistency is sincere (in that woke boys are truly embarrassed for their behavior and basically overcompensate) or whether that external picture of caring is a crafted veneer.

[Which isn't a serious question meant to defend them; it's just sort of a curiosity I have.]

You have to be straight up when you are using Buffy to get laid. The more convoluted the story gets the more wrong things are happening. Yo, wifey, are you okay with me sleeping with thirsty actresses trying to get on my show? No? K, I won't pull that shit as long as we are together via our sacred vows, oh, and I'm uberfeminist Joss Whedon so smash the patriarchy, kids ;)

Thief12And it's not just these. It's this Hollywood "recent" fetish with prequels. Just look at what Disney is making with the Star Wars universe. We have prequels for Han Solo, Boba Fett, and now Obi-Wan. Who needs that?

I needed Rogue One.

That's a first

Sorcerer Supreme NamelessITS FROM THE WRITER OF THE BEST MOVIE EVER, SUNSHINE, EVERYONE!

A beautiful man who writes (and directs) beautiful beautiful movies. The Beach changed the world!

Sunshine is outstanding.

I'm not huge on The Beach but 28 Days Later, Sunshine, Never Let Me Go, Dredd, and Ex Machina are all outstanding movies to me. My gut has a strong feeling that Annihilation will be on the short list for this year's best films

He does interesting work in video games too - Ninja Theory's Enslaved: Journey to the West was written by him and he also wrote the story for their Devil May Cry reboot, which was far better than it had any right to be

Like, why is the director of The Hangover movies directing a Joker origin movie produced by Martin Scorsese? What part of any of this makes sense, DCCU is literally the Trump Administration of Hollywood, just a complete shitshow yet they are somehow profiting, and if anyone steps out of line they throw them and their families under the bus. Money is just the sugar feeding this cancerous tumor. Stephen Mnuchin and his dumbass wife snickering at us peasants

It's currently tangoing with the Joss Whedon drama, like, they announced that shit the very day after the Whedon news broke with explicit intention that the movie is an off shoot of the DC universe and not involved with Justice League. This movie is DC's Killing Joke, huhuhuheeheeheehee

Knowing is a gem. It's, like, simultaneously an amazing movie while baring all of the worst aspects of Nicolas Cage... and it just works for some weird reason... then it gets all audacious and starts throwing incredible sequences in throughout and then it goes full nut on the ending. Yeah. I love Knowing

SPEED RACER is the ultimate one for me given it's critical reception and the fact that The Wachowskis made two abhorrent movies in the form of the Matrix sequels (@ me, max). It's so singular, and I could go on and on and on about the genius of the editing and shot composition, there are elements of the movie I find are the absolute bar which still has not been cleared yet - literally too given some of the technology in play. That focus-less camera is incredible, I wish that was the peak of cinema technology and we never went into 3D

EDIT: Dredd. Alex Garland is a hero. I was surprised at how beautiful the film managed to be in all of it's grime... 3D is allowed here, that slo-mo drug was just a perfect story gimmick

Rated NCC-1701One certainly doesn't use a wall of text for passive discourse, so there's that.

Oh, I've seen Joss Whedon without Twitter character limits. Dude's a messy bitch

Don't worry, I've got my tinfoil hat on. And it's in the shape of a windmill.

Who is the worse human being?

All things considered, my vote is on Louise Linton. I mean, she really puts a lot into perspective, in general

Sorcerer Supreme NamelessBut remember, everyone, this is Hollywood and everything is fiction so we have to stay WOKE and focused on the real context of what's going on here

Justice League is fuuuuucked

The day after the Whedon news dropped they announced this lil nugget: Todd Philips' Joker origin movie! The plan here, you see, is to open up a new branch of DC film universe which isn't connected to the Justice League... in other words they are still desperately trying to distance themselves away from Justice League

What have been all of the news stories revolving around Ben Affleck, Zack Snyder (and I'm sorry, man), and Joss Whedon? When have these stories taken place? WB are such complete fucks, let me tell you. Like, it's a curse at this point

Also, Steve Mnuchin's wife is very sorry about those things she said on Instagram belittling people with less means than her. I'm sure that's sincere.

MKSI love Joss Whedon's work and regardless of him as a person (I'm not one to put a lot of faith in an ex), his work itself is largely feminist.

I swear to God, MKS. I feel like Walter and you are Donny right now
