JeanMad Max: Fury Road (2015) - 95

This might become my most watched movie of the 10's. Probably already is.

What is there to rewatch? Some stock characters go to a place, turn around, and come back. Riveting.

Spoilers.

Kinda spoiled the whole movie.

BobHarrisSo are we claiming the Assembly Cut as the preferred version of Alien 3

I wouldn't go that far. The pacing, unfinished special effects and ox origin for the creature don't sit right with me. It's a great companion piece and an ideal cut combines the two but I'm going to take the theatrical cut of all Alien films.

I completely agree with the pacing and those Alien SFX, the ox origin didn't bother me, I didn't find it great by any means but didn't find it horrible either.

WooleyIt is probably the most embarrassing performance of Wynona Rider's career. And I think that's all I can remember about it. Was there a basketball?

Yes and a paraplegic man with mouth movements that I can't describe.

Dominique Pinon is a French national treasure.

His mouth reminds me a fish you put in a fishtank to remove algae from the glass.

Wait, is this version with the monks and the giant wooden planet and bookcases?

MKSBoth Jason X and Alien Resurrection are entertaining departures from the styles and tones of their franchises that work well enough on their own merits. Jeunet's bombastic style doesn't quite mesh with Whedon's comic book punchy script, and creates a mix of flavors that's too bizarre to dismiss as bad.

I just did.

Did anyone mention on here how god awful bad this movie is because I don't seem to remember. Ive been watching Alien/s/3 the past week waiting for Covenant and wow. This made me remember all those bad late 90's Sci/Fi dated effects movies but I'm shocked at how bad this thing is, and I consider myself one of the more lenient posters on here. Written by Mr. Marvel himself.

2/10

MKSI watched Polytechnique. It was certainly more in the Inarritu/Cuaron vein than his American work. Substantially more fluid and active in it's cinematography and more of an emphasis on alternating between subjective experience and detached observation, often depending on which character was on screen.

I loved it and really need to bite the bullet and blind buy Incendies.

Yes, you should.

BvS didn't exactly set a high bar for Civil War to jump across, and Im a pretty big Batman fan since childhood.
