The old one is pretty massive and several people have complained about having trouble opening it, so here's a new one! Link to the old one here.

Alright, start filling it up!

Seriously, empty threads make me anxious so I'm going to get back to dumping random crap in here.

I was bored this morning so I started looking at news articles on Yahoo with lots of comments. Holy hell.

Later I will look at this post when I accidentally hit the first page instead of the most recent one.

So the last like 7 out of 8 movies I've seen were indie movies, and most of them had non endings/leave it to the audience bs. I mean I don't mind those endings, but it's such a damn cliche in indie movies that it's become obnoxious.

Anyways, this is happening, and why didn't anyone tell me?!?!?

now I have to finish the dreaded last 3 seasons before April.

I watched Star Trek Into Darkness on Blu-ray and that's probably the stupidest ****ing movie I've ever seen in my life goddamn (but looked pretty good on Blu-ray I guess).

I also saw Inside Llewyn Davis and that was pretty good but not as good as the other recent Coen Bros stuff.

I saw Her and loved it. I dig the subtle near-future in the movie (the fashion in particular is pretty special). It also connects its themes to video games in some interesting ways. Went to some places I wasn't expecting after seeing the trailers. Recommended to anyone who likes Jonze (and maybe Eternal Sunshine?).

Yep, Into Darkness was really really dumb. I know Abrams really doesn't give a **** about Star Trek but what the hell was he thinking. Let's hope a new team of writers and a new director can bring some much needed intelligence and life to a really terrible reboot.

I saw Elysium recently with my wife and both of us loved it. It's not as good as District 9 but it was a lot of fun. The inclusion of some stereotypical South African stuff did really help though (my wife's South African). Other than that, there really haven't been any movies that I've wanted to see. When I look back over the last few years there's really been a movie drought. Even foreign stuff has become less and less interesting.

And where the hell is some good TV Sci-Fi!? i've been dying for something great since BSG ended.

I liked it. Yes, I can tell that it was exaggerated and it also seemed very smug but it was enjoyable.

Don't know if I can deal with it. I don't like the majority of British TV shows. Everything feels like a soap opera, not the content but the visual style. Also, I'm looking for some space exploration type stuff, or something like the X-Files. I've been re-watching all of Stargate Atlantis which was a damn fine show; much better than SG-1.

The production values/aesthetic is more in line with American TV (you get to the intrigue in 2 1/2 minutes) if that's what you're worried about. Barring that, there's always Star Trek Begins!

Isn't the production stuff actually Canadian? I mean, it's all shot in Canada with Canadian actors, I think BBC America is just co-financing it...

(Not that that helps--Canadian production values/aesthetics are traditionally way worse then modern BBC)

Anyway, the point is Orphan Black is awesome and by far the best current sci-fi show.

Darkness is more enjoyable than elysium. Star trek was dumb, but it was still fun. The only good thing about elysium was when that dude got his face blown off.

Into Darkness is like Transformers, except more dumb. Elysium, although shallow had nothing to live up to, it was it's own thing, and it was fairly entertaining. Star Trek needs to be compared to the previous films and Into Darkness is by far the worse, I would say it's so bad that Star Trek: The Final Frontier is a masterpiece considered to the JJ Abrams ****ter that is Into Darkness. At least he can't ruin Star Wars any more than it's already been ruined. It's still going to be a **** film though.

I found Into Darkness extremely enjoyable, despite it's at-times moronic script. Abrams desperately needs to ditch Lindelof, Orci and Kurtzman and get a real writing team, but I honestly think he's one of the best action directors working right now.
