Amazon has some good deals going if you still have Editor's Choice coupons.

After coupon prices:

Play on Hard. Drop difficulty for the first "dungeon" if you want, it's an awful introduction. Also drop difficulty for wolf boss and every situation where the main character fights alone. There's only three situations I can think of off hand where this happens. Don't bother playing otherwise.

No, you won't find Flynn anytime soon. Yes, the pacing is really that ****ing slow.

Graces F is waaaaaaay better.

No code for Mecha.

Whatever. Still waiting to hear on whether or not a Steam version exists.

Mecha;20777241That doesn't mean there won't be a Steam.

If EA can keep it off of Playstation consoles, I'm pretty sure they can keep it locked to their PC platform.

Especially since it's using dedicated servers. It's going to be Origin-only.

A Playstation port costs real-ass real money, on top of EA losing out on some real-ass real Microsoft dosh.

A steam executable does not.

It's all about what kind of deal Respawn inked up.

And I don't even know what the hell this means.

A shitty deal, guaranteed -- they weren't even told about Titanfall 1 lifetime exclusivity until just before we were.

EA is not going to ruin a chance to drive a ton of people to their PC platform over Steam.

It's built with dedicated servers in mind -- servers backed by EA. If it was self-published on Steam, it wouldn't have those servers unless Respawn foot the bill, and that's not happening.

EA hasn't been in the business of putting their own games on Steam for years. 38 Studios is a weird anomaly, one that you should know not to pin your hopes on.

Precisely. Titanfall is an EA game, it's silly to pretend otherwise. I understand why people don't want it to be EA, but it is EA. It's going to be treated as such, and that means no Steam.

(As an aside I want to point out how untrustworthy Vince Zampella is. It doesn't matter in this specific discussion, but I don't personally trust a single thing he says.)

It's not EA's game. That's the point. And 38 studios isn't an anomaly. Warp was post Origin-proliferation game, and even requires Origin hooks to play. That's on Steam too.

Short of Crysis and Syndicate, which was an EA IP anyways, there's precedent for developers being able to do whatever the hell they want with their games on whatever service.

I'll admit that the bill for the servers does throw a wrench in the idea, but that doesn't cut out anything. Betting Origin exclusively with all the info right now is still a fool's gamble as far as I'm concerned.

Who funded Titanfall? If Respawn self-funded it (like 38 Studios did for Kingdom), then sure, it's potentially not an EA game. But everything I've seen suggests that no, EA paid for the game, therefore it's an EA game. As Bronson points out, EA already picked what platforms the game comes out on. They're in control. They have no interest in Steam.
