BigwigThis conversation started with a "who is it more important to" discussion. Not some referendum on who is watching other playoff games. I'd also add that we have a baseball team, and sports fans are likely watching the Pirates on those nights off. Whereas Nashville alternatives are the Rodeo and Country Music channels.

You spoke of Nashville dismissively as northerners and Canadians are wont to do about sun belt fanbases. My response was intended to correct this antiquated attitude.

And St. Louis was 3rd on that list. I hear that's kind of a baseball town.

No, I spoke of Nashville dismissively to be put into Pittsburgh Penguin fandom range. And it's correct. And so what? You can't expect to build that kind of fanbase in an area that (a) doesn't play hockey and (b) is basically a new franchise that quickly. It's just not going to happen. The Penguins have been around for fifty years, and before that had a minor league team that was actually quite popular here. It takes time.

How dare you diminish the Dixie Flyers.

After thinking about it, twitter followers is probably a bad measurement. The Penguins aren't far behind Toronto, and BARELY behind Montreal. Both cities are also larger, Toronto much so. And there's no doubt that both cities value hockey more. I suspect that the Penguins have a big twitter following because of (a) star power, (b) success, (c) Canadian neutrals like Stork-Lor who first loved Lemieux, then Crosby, and (d) a high popularity in Russia due to Malkin and the Pens program over there.?

So that's probably a bad measurement.

Dyne, Det, and I had a lively conversation for several minutes and then they left--I thought chat was done but forgot to close the window.

BTW, the Senators play garbage ass hockey. I know the Canadians are rooting for them, and I understand, but this isn't the kind of hockey you should want. It fucking blows.

Hopefully Pittsburg tries to play some garbage ass hockey in the third period because this is getting embarrassing.

Pittsburgh has an 'h', fucker. Surely you know what I mean by garbage hockey, I hope. Maybe you don't. You're Canadian.

My joke still works regardless though, which is that you should be more worried about actually scoring at this point. Jokes!
