Hey Moses, Conor McGregor wants to fight Mayweather.

Why not, the unorthodox style of McGregor that could land a lucky blow? The chance that a 40-year-man gets injured or his skills have declined dramatically? That there's some fluke like a bad cut? That Mayweather throws it in order to set up another big money rematch? Someone charges the ring, stabs one of them and it's ruled a No Contest?

Yes. What you win doesn't make up for the fact that a simple sprained ankle could fuck you for a big loss. A sport betting rule of thumb is not to go in on fights at more than three to one odds. People ignore this, because it's easy to win on favourites in the short run, but sooner or later you'll get caught, and probably lose more than you've made by betting on heavy faves.

MosesAn old fucking Mayweather kept Pacquiao off of him. Potentially, Pacquaio could have ended shit for Mayweather pretty easily. He didn't, and though Pac is still world-class, he had no shot with Mayweather. What's left to say about Conor? He has zero fucking chance.

Pacquiao having an undisclosed shoulder injury is a factor, isn't it?

I don't know anyone who believes that Pacquiao's shoulder was anything but an excuse.

My memory was that Buster Douglas was 60-1, but the internet tells me he was 42-1. Maybe the guy's life savings were $60,000. and that's where my neurons are firing wrong. Or maybe he was 42-1 and Tyson was 1-60. My maximum bet would be $7000 I figure, though $3500 would be more likely. There'd be no point in betting less if as you say I'd lose money on the bank transfer, probably currency exchange, maybe bank charges, etc. I probably won't bet at all, I was just floating the idea to see what people thought.

Especially at those long odds, I'm sure different casinos had different odds for the Tyson-Douglas fight.

Yeah, I couldn't find any evidence in my 45-odd seconds off googling it, but I remember that a guy bet something like $60k to win a grand thinking it was a sure thing and got hosed.

My gambling story is Leicester winning the Premier League a couple seasons ago at 5000/1. This obviously cost the bookies millions, however apparently most of the damage was done at odds of 500/1 and 100/1 because as the season progressed people started to think, "wouldn't it be great if they kept this up" and started to throw 5 or 10 pounds on them in numbers. There were some pretty cool stories of bookies scrambling towards the end of the season to buy back punter's bets.

It was a remarkable upset, surely the greatest in the history of sports. What a time to be alive.

The symbol for GBP shows up as a question mark. As in "please lend Zuben ?300 so he can buy a Nintendo Switch"

I'm sure they'll get on this and fix it quickly.

I wonder what the split is for this fight. I'd guess somewhere between 70-30 and 60-40 in favour of Mayweather. Probably closer to the latter. Considering Mayweather's getting paid at least 100 million, that's some nice business for both guys.?

No, briggm, it's rubbish. $200m for two blokes is rubbish scraps.
