MosesGuys, we've lost Elvis handler, Road House and Goodbye Solo actor Red West.

One hell of a Wikipedia page here.

I remember hearing about the details of his life while reading various reviews for Goodbye Solo and did a bit more of a wiki deep dive. Really interesting dude who did some special things (and starred in a film I greatly adore). RIP.

MaxRennChester Bennington of Linkin Park.

Apparently he was close friends with Chris Cornell and killed himself the same way (hanging) on what would have been Cornell's birthday.

I'm thinking if I just stay alive long enough I'll become a rock star by process of elimination.

Sam Shepard

He was looking pretty frail in Bloodline so I'm not too surprised.

And he was 73, of course. Shut up.

I hate reading that kind of stuff because my dad is 76. He's in good health, but ugh.

Glen Campbell died. That guy was actually pretty great. His version of Jimmy Webb's "Wichita Lineman" is one of the best handful of songs ever recorded.

Jerry Lewis could do all the shit he wanted, but he was in The King of Comedy, and fucking nailed it, so that makes up for all the rest.

I mean god damn, I have vodka and such in me, but someone name me a more criminally under-rated and under-appreciated movie than The King of Comedy. That's Scorcese top-3 fucking material.

Maybe if you're so drunk that you can't remember the 70's, 80's and 90's. Taxi Driver and Raging Bull are vastly better than TKoC and that means that TKoC has to be better than every gangster movie Scorsese has ever made, which it isn't. It's also not better than Silence.

I'd go:

1. Raging Bull
2. Goodfellas
3. Taxi Driver
4. King of Comedy

King of Comedy is pretty much Lewis's saving grace.

It's been pretty difficult reading comedians on Twitter pretending Jerry Lewis and Dick Gregory were funny.
