I remember the kids bouncing the balls in unison. As that scene was in the trailer, that is sufficient for me to say, "Looks great!"

ZubenLife was way more fun and tense than it's 68% on the RT meter and total under the radar theatre run would have had me believe. All the deaths looked and felt horrifying as well.

The first one is fucking insane. I forgot I saw this in theaters, it was a good time.

Oh yeah, and surprising because of the who and how's of the scene. I kept waiting for the movie to get bad, but it never did. It never got great either, but as far as space horror movies go, it's pretty damn solid.

Also, it had a decent ending. Overall, solid movie to stream.

I skimmed the wiki and although I know I read it as a kid I still can't remember any of that shit. Anyway, it looks like DuVernay is drawing from her own Southern California childhood so maybe it'll be a good kid's movie. I remember thinking Selma was a damn fine movie.

I remember the fact that I read it as a kid, but not a thing about it. I don't know if that's because I was too young to remember it now, whether I've killed off the brain cells that held the information about it, or if it just wasn't that memorable.

To put it mildly, the reviews of Dunkirk are positive.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982) - 45

Is this one of those movies that's only a classic because it's been shoved down our throats on daytime TV for the past 35 years? It's not the least bit funny, the characters are maybe one half-step above lazy, stock caricatures, and there's barely even a story there. The best thing I can say for it is that it's entertaining in a mildly inoffensive sort of way.

Crazy Days at Coolidge Prep (1983) -- 85

WTF? Why is this not a classic? Jiggly-titted chicks in gym shorts, skateboarding gangs terrorizing the food court, a young jew-froed Tony Shalhoub as the new kid with a robot leg? Hot pussy and tits, fuck me where it hurts!

SW: Rogue One

What a charming pile of who-gives-a-fuck over an inconsequential corner of the 'main story'. Not unlike its predecessors in the series, designed to geek more-than-willing nostalgic audiences up for another money grab at nothing.

No.

Traveled to the opposite side of Baltimore to see Dunkirk in 70mm. It's a fine film but the addled chronology and unsubtle musical cues detract. Concerning the time jumping, it seems more like Nolan being self-indulgent than serving any kind of purpose for the audience. I just found it confusing. My confusion was not helped by the fact that the stranger to one side of me kept asking me questions during the movie. At one point she left for a few minutes and came back and asked me what she missed. She seemed like probably a special-needs person or else I would have told her to shut the fuck up instead of trying to answer her questions, meanwhile missing a scene that would have explained why One Direction ended up hiding in the bottom of a boat. After the movie I murdered her. I'm now on the lam.
