NimChimpskyThis New Yorker Profile of Tom Cotton makes it pretty clear, I think, that Cotton is the "smart Trump" threat coming down the pike that EA has warned about.

Oh, that was EA who warned me about something I was already concerned about and mentioned on this message board many times?

If there's a guy that constantly hums "Smoke on the Water," I'm going to describe the song as "that song that guy is always humming," whether or not you've listened to the song on your own.

We now have leaked evidence that the Trump campaign was, in fact, corresponding with Wikileaks despite the claims otherwise:

https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/11/the-secret-correspondence-between-donald-trump-jr-and-wikileaks/545738/

Interestingly, Julian Assange was pushing the Trump campaign to refuse to concede and declare the election rigged.

I can understand why the injustice Assange was subjected to made him deeply bitter about the U.S. government in general, and Clinton in particular, but it's a shame he gave into that bitterness. He had the moral high ground when he originally sought Asylum in the Ecuadorian embassy. He's since swan dived off that peak.

PaquitoIn other leaks, the Shadow Brokers have made the NSA their bitch.

FYI to people considering careers as judges: This is why mandating backdoors to encryption implementations is a fucking terrible idea.

Oh, good. More ransomware.

Edward Snowden made a keen point about the need for curation in these kinds of leaks.

Mysterious DudeShould we talk about this 36-year-old who has practiced law for three years, has never tried a case and is probably about to become a federal judge in Alabama?

He loves Trump and Jesus. What more qualifications does he need?

He also 'forgot' to disclose that his wife is a WH lawyer that's chief of staff for the guy that essentially recommends federal judge appointments in the Trump admin. The dots are so close together here you don't even have to connect them.

Jeff Sessions: "I totally forgot that Papadopoulus was trying to set up meetings with the russians and that we had talked about it, until you just reminded me that there's proof of this happening so now I remember.. Honest mistake! It's because the campaign was so crazy.I have no recollection whatsoever of the content of those conversations - but I'd like to say that I reminded him at the time that he has no authority whatsoever to represent the Trump admin to the russians, though I don't remember any of this. Totally not lying."

If Jeff Sessions truly has such memory problems (narrator: "He doesn't") then he should be removed from office for being unfit to serve (narrator: "He won't be").

This isn't nearly as important as the fact that he failed to disclose a blatant conflict of interest given that his wife is the freaking chief of staff to white house counsel (and also happens to be a witness in Mueller's investigation). That alone should disqualify him.
