I know he's gone on hiatuses before, but this time he actually owes me beer. LOOKAAAAAAAA!!!!

But seriously, he hasn't posted since mid-August and nothing on Untappd since Labor Day weekend. Is he dead? I'd ask Looka, on the internet, to use his google-fu to find Looka, but I can't find Looka. On the internet.

Wirthling, can you confirm the latest FB activity so we can call time of death here?

The last FB post of his I saw (October-ish, I think) was some kind of weird humblebrag about being on fourteen different organ-donor waiting lists.

The bad news: It was specifically about him turning down a colon from some Canadian guy named Quentin Paige. The good news: QP is dead.

There's a guy by the same name from the same part of Alabama that is in jail for forgery but the mugshot doesn't look like him. That's all I got.

Yeah, looka was locked up for 4chanry, and I think you get taken off the grid for that in Alabama.

It was definitely a joke. But that doesn't change the fact that he's dead.

Yes, I do owe you beer, Neum. For that, I do apologize. I had your bottles, and every intention of shipping, before being blindsided by the lovely life we lead. Due to the entire situation being incredibly chaotic, my days at the time most often being spent curled into a ball, as the crippling anxiety resulting from having no idea where I was going to live kneaded a fairly healthy Looka into an empty husk.?

All that said, by the time I got my shit together, a significant amount of time had passed and I was admittedly feeling a mix of embarrassment, "Neum thinks I'm a douchebag thief" or any number of other horrid things interspersed with periods of genuinely forgetting about it. The pages turn, and...

We come to yesterday. I'm spending time with a close friend while I can, as I depart for a detox program, followed by a longer term inpatient facility, in an effort to convince my body that heroin,(no needles, ever, for anyone who may be curious) and it's dopaminergic feelgood gift is anything but what a good Looka needs in life. Through hours of conversation, my friend mentions something triggering an RT memory and before I know it, I'm not only able to log in again, but there are brand new posts. I've honestly been in a bit of shock at that fact, and debating if was even worth posting right before I plan to leave. After beating off to some OT classics and a smoke, I noticed this thread, which brings us to where we are. Again, I am truly sorry. I do drink a little these days, but usually nurse or two, and much of the time it's just cheap lager, or your run of the mill ubiquitous craft. Regardless, if I were to send something upon my return, the bottles would obviously not be what we had agreed upon, although making it up to you as you see fit is certainly something I would like to do.

Aside from that word vomit, I just want to say that surely I made my own poor decisions, but goddamnit, drug prohibition has never, and will never be an answer to quell the use and abuse of illicit drugs, especially when many people's addictions, particularly to opioids, bloomed from a legitimate physical issue. Mine didn't, but the results were essentially the same. Once the pill mills began shutting down, and my preferred poison became not increasingly difficult to obtain, but exponentially expensive, I turned to the more potent, far cheaper and readily available alternative. It's a shame so many are dying, and as of this afternoon, I'd very much enjoy not checking out at nigh on 33 years young. Cheers, all. 🖱

I'm glad you're getting into a program. I've had friends who were addicted to pills or heroin who have gotten and remained clean. I don't know anything about what you're going into, but I can tell you: suboxone works and it works very well. I'm rooting for you, Justin.
